THROUGHOUT
the ages people have
looked to the night sky and conjured im-
ages of wild beasts, warriors, crus-
taceans, fish and ancient gods. Today it
is still fascinating to look up and use your
imagination to see beyond the stars. A
local group of night sky watchers has
taken that concept even further… they
built an observatory. The group is the
Bluewater Astronomical Society (BAS)
and the facility is the new E.S. Fox Obser-
vatory near Oliphant, on the Lake Huron
side of the Bruce Peninsula.
