To achieve openness of the interior spaces, walls were eliminated, glass
doors replaced solid wood ones and expansive glass windows and
French doors were added on the waterside. Trish willingly took on the
task of furnishing their new home keeping to the neutral, earth-tones of
the interior finishes and the contemporary, uncluttered lines.
At around 2000 square feet, the energy efficient home offers an easy-
care freedom. “Living here feels like we’re on vacation,” says Phil,
“and everyday on the water is like watching a movie - it’s always
changing. We don’t even have a TV.” Phil is also captivated by the
history of the place, the quiet it presents and by the small community
setting where everyone knows everyone. He also really likes the
scope of the space, “Today, the world is about a smaller footprint.
I love that we bought a home that had been re-done, not just
ripped down and replaced with a mega-structure.”
