wide variety of music, theatre, films, gallery exhibits and
events! Jam-packed with entertainment, Meaford Hall
brings an East Coast Music Festival; a week of live profes-
sional theatre; the Meaford International Film Festival and
its first ever Blues Series to its intimate Edwardian Opera
House stage, located in downtown Meaford.
The East Coast Music Festival runs from Thursday July 5th
through Sunday July 8th. An al fresco lobster roll dinner on
the Terrace kicks off the opening night followed by a per-
formance by one of Canada’s best loved andmost intriguing
roots singer-songwriters, Old Man Luedecke. Friday after-
noon the East Coast party moves to the Harbour front
Farmer’s Market where MPP Bill Walker hosts a pie eating

tain the kids. Drop by to purchase some fresh produce of
the local Farmer’s Market and have dinner while enjoying
great live music. The BarraMacNeils will perform on stage
at Meaford Hall that evening at 8pm so get your tickets soon
for this Cape Breton based family group. Saturday’s per-

the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund.
A Blues Series is something new for Meaford Hall this year
featuring three multiple Maple Blues Award winning artists.
Suzie Vinnick is first in the series this June followed by a dou-
ble bill featuring Carlos Del Junco and Steve Strongman in
August. Veteran Blues guitarist Matt Andersen rounds out
the series inOctober and tickets for all three are selling well.
Meaford Hall has a long-standing tradition of live profes-
sional theatre and is excited to present Norm Foster’s Self
Help from July 18-21. Produced by Lighthouse Festival The-
atre in Port Dover, and directed by Derek Ritschel, Self-Help
is the story of Hal and Cindy Savage, two struggling actors
who reinvent themselves as self-help gurus and, much to
their surprise, become the world's most revered relationship
experts.
Unfortunately, while their careers skyrocket, their marriage
goes into a nosedive, and they soon find themselves scram-
bling to protect their reputations. A special dinner and show
fundraiser for the Meaford Hall & Culture Foundation takes
place July 20th with limited seating available.
The summer concludes with the 4th Annual Meaford Inter-
national Film Festival on Labour Day Weekend featuring
four nights of award winning films and parties. The films will
be announced in mid-July but previous years have featured
such films as The White Meadows; the First Grader and Re-
strepo. Billed as “Four Nights, Four Films, Four Parties”,
MIFF provides a professional festival experience including
award winning films followed by interviews with actors, di-
rectors or producers, concluded with a nightly outdoor
party! The four day Festival sells out annually and tickets are
already going fast- even before titles are announced!
As if that isn’t enough, Meaford Hall also has two summer
arts camps and this September will launch Theatre Kids, a
weekly dramatic arts class designed by Sandcastle Theatre
for the area’s youth. This and so much more taking place
just down the road; it is definitely worth a trip to Meaford!
