A substantial stone, wood burning fireplace floats from the front
to back of the home — exposed to the front hall and acting as a
wall, it gives texture while naturally defining the space between
the master bedroom and the great room. Decorated with mod-
ern style design elements, the 2 storey great room is adorned
with floor to ceiling windows which bathe the room in natural
light and is complemented by hardwood floors throughout. Eyes
are instinctively drawn to the natural beauty of the soaring,
tongue and groove ceiling.
Working with a neutral palette, the massive fireplace is flanked
with two butter-beige sofas. Green, burnt orange and floral toss
pillows add splashes of colour and a pair of soft grey, contem-
porary, zebra print chairs detailed with nail heads add a sophis-
ticated smattering of whimsy. The occasional tables all have
metal bases and rustic wood tops and a gorgeously soft, mod-
ern weaved area rug hugs the living space. A large Bear paint-
ing purchased in Whistler reconfirms all the hues used in the
palette of this welcoming area.
