BUSINESS SPOTLIGHTS
Master hair colourist,
Angela Donnelly fell in love in with the quaint
town of Thornbury during a visit to the area. The rolling landscape and prox-
imity to water reminded her of her home in the Chic ChocMountains. With her
successful Sudbury business GlowHair Studio andGalley being self-sufficient,
Angela felt she could faithfully step away, relocate her growing family and
open a second location in the Escarpment region.
Glow Hair Studio and Gallery opened its doors in the heart of Thornbury this summer and employs talented, hair stylist
KristyNorman and certified makeup artist and stylist apprentice FalonOdnokon. Both ladies have a passion for furthering
their craft as Angela mandates that all her staff become Master Colourists – footing the bill for their education, including
several cutting and colouring courses per year.
In addition to being colour-correcting specialists, the Stylists at Glow are passionate about ensuring each and every cus-
tomer leaves their Salon satisfied and feeling incredible with their new look. Services include Japanese Hair Straightening
(the only Salon in the area to offer this permanent straightening treatment), Japanese Perms, highlighting, colour treat-
ments, Great Length Hair Extensions, makeup artistry, aesthetics, acupuncture, massage therapy, Reiki, and from time to
time, a guest tattoo artist will visit the Studio.
An artist herself, Angela is committed to making art accessible to one and all. Every eight weeks a fresh local Artist will
showcase their talent throughout the Studio and in addition, host wine and cheese galas. An incredible addition to our
area, people are already talking about the inviting atmosphere at Glow, the professional, dedicated Stylists and their
attention to detail. Glow is now accepting new clients.

Food allergies
aren’t just reserved for humans and for many dog owners,
identifying an ailment in a beloved canine can be tricky at best. When Lucy
Lehman, a former breeder of Golden Retrievers, was having issues with one
of her young pups she looked to the ingredients list of the kibble she was
feeding her. Lucy went one step further and investigated what kibble is actually made from. Her findings were shocking.
With input from a nutritionist, Lucy began preparing human grade meals for her dogs. With this new diet Lucy’s formerly
sick pup lived to be 15 and produce several litters of healthy puppies. Word spread and before long Lucy was creating
nutritious meals for her friend’s pets, and their friend’s pets. Soon after, Dogs We Love was born.
Lucy opened her first location in Orangeville several years ago, and lucky for us, she has brought her successful and unique
business to Collingwood, opening a Dogs We Love at the Cranberry Mews. Each day the Dogs We Love kitchen is busy
preparing meals for thousands of dogs, using ground beef, chicken or lamb, chopped fresh vegetables, whole eggs, sun-
flower oil, stone ground flours, herbs and supplements. Fresh from the oven the food keeps for 4 to 5 days in the refrigerator
-just like your own leftovers. However, most of the meatloaf is frozen to preserve it, without the use of chemicals, and out
the shop door in days, directly to the customer’s freezer. Once thawed the trays are easily divided and can feed any size
dog. It's that simple; just thaw and serve.
Dogs We Love recipes and baking instructions are all clearly listed on their website and they even sell pre-made dog food
mix in store, for at home cooking. You will always find unique selections of doggie goodies - including treats, bones, toys,
mugs, bowls, gifts, beds and crates. Of course advice on anything dog related is always free. This business really is all
about the Dogs We Love.
