Downtown
Collingwood just became a lot more chic! Cora Couture has an ac-
tive following of fashionably comfortable women who religiously shop at their Bloor
Street West shop in Toronto, and lucky for us, owners Alicia Kokot and Elizabeth
Buczek recently opened their second location at 151 Hurontario Street.
Cora Couture specializes in offering women sophisticate clothing styled beautifully with uniquely European flair. Alicia
and Elizabeth understand that their customers are looking for comfortable pieces that are carefully constructed using
natural fibers — high quality linen, cotton, silk, boiled wool, and the like. Cora offers interesting brands that are not found
elsewhere, including Flax, Kontrast and BrynWalker, which are famous for feminine, flowy, stylish, and comfortable de-
signs. The stunning Kontrast line from Poland is exclusive to Cora.
In addition to their beautiful selection of sweaters and dresses Cora’s accessories lines immediately caught my eye, es-
pecially their stunning selection of leather belts, and handbags. I can also see a few of their scarves and chunky jewellery
in my future closet.
Alicia and Elizabeth purchase their stock with “slow fashion” in mind, a movement which is gaining steam in Europe.
Slow fashion revolves around the notion that fashion should not be a seasonal trend that comes and goes like animal
print or bell-bottoms, but a sustainable fashion movement that doesn’t involve purging your closet each season. Step in-
side Cora and you’ll agree, their timeless fashions are easy to mix and match and are virtually ageless. Browsing is en-
couraged and you’ll enjoy chatting with the owners. It’s a very welcoming shop.
Cora Couture is open Monday to Saturday 10am-5:30pm, Sunday from 11:30am-5pm.
They are located at 151 Hurontario Street (corner of 3
rd
Street) in downtown Collingwood.
