The Strizic pond has a clay bot-
tom and sometimes the wind
churns up silt so water clarity is af-
fected slightly. About every two
years organic blue dye is added
which augments the color and
helps keep random algae
away. “We have never actually
had algae, the dye is just used as
a precaution.” explains Pat.
Rocks lining the edges of the
pond were dug out during the
construction and make perfect sit-
ting spots.The dock is equipped
with lights that enhance long sum-
mer evenings and also allow
ample illumination for skating in
the Winter.
This natural looking, created
pond has become a well loved,
and idyllic part of life.
