Wemadeefficientuseof limitedspace, incorporatingakid-proofchar-
coal sofaandoversizedarmchair for reading (purchased from former
localbusinessesFoley’sandParrots&Parsnips respectively).Because
of the small entrywayweneeded tobecreativewith storage—awhite
shoecabinet from Ikeadid the trick. Toadduniqueness,we replaced
thestock Ikeaknobswithantiqueceramicknobs fromGreentreeGar-
dens inCollingwood.
After living in BritishColumbia for over 10 years it was important to
bringapart of thewest coast backwith us.Our collectionofNative
Canadianart fromVancouver Island,BC, (anda few fromManitoulin
Island) add vibrant colour to the space anddraw the eye upwards.
Several pieces of furniture returnedwith us after living inUtah for a
stint, including the twinOriental hutchesandauthenticantler lamp—a
weddinggift frommymotherDeena,whichshepurchased inParkCity
ononeof her trips tovisit us.
