office spaceat the shop so, in-housedesignerNicole Schram took on the
task of designing it using key elements of Industrial-style design. This influ-
ence reflects anage that focusedonmanufacturing,mechanical ingenuity
andappreciating rawandunfinished interiors.
The reno beganwith routing the door and pushing back thewall 2 feet
which increased theoverall space thatwasneeded. Themagic in thisnew
space comes fromNicole’s useof ‘VintagePlankWallboard’. “It’s not just
for floors anymore,” saysNicole. “Using it as a featurewall really adds
depthanda rustic feel to thespace.”Customshelvingmade frompipesand
reclaimedwood fitsnicely into theoverall themeandcreates interestingdis-
play space forobjectsd’art.
Thecustom ‘liveedge’deskwith4 inchmetal legswasdesignedspecifically
for theofficeand helps tie inall the elements—from rustic exposed finishes
and structural elements to industrial inspired lighting fixtures. The timeless
appeal of thesedetailswork, nodoubt, theyarehere to stay.
