The Georgian Bay Club
began as a dream in 1999 for its
owners and thirty founding members, and the dream became reality
when the golf course opened for play in June 2004. The following year
the majestic Mountain Style Clubhouse opened to the Membership,
perched high atop the Nipissing Ridge overlooking both the golf course
and beautiful Georgian Bay. The Club was named the Best New Private
Course in Canada for 2005 by Golf Digest Magazine, and from 2008
to 2010 played host to The FordWayne Gretzky Classic on the PGA’s
Nationwide Tour, as the only PGANationwide Tour stop in Canada. In
just ten short years, the GBC is quickly climbing the rankings of the coun-
try’s best courses.
The Club will be having tenth anniversary celebrations during the sea-
son for the Membership and their guests, with the highlight of the festiv-
ities being The Georgian Bay Club Foundation’s Tenth Annual Charity
Golf Tournament on Sunday August 18th, with events planned through-
out the weekend. The Georgian Bay Club Foundation is a charitable
organization comprised of Club Members, and provides a means of
“giving back” to the local community by raising funds annually which
contribute to the health and well-being of our community. With over
$820,000 raised in its first nine years, the Foundation’s goal is to raise
$1Million in 10 years!
