Clinic isanew ventureopened recently toprovide treatments toelimi-
nateunsightly legveins.
Since2000,KathyhasbeenprovidingSclerotherapyand Laser treat-
ments toaddress spider veins and larger Reticular leg veins. Kathy is
anRNwithover25yearsofexperienceandbeganherSclerotherapy
training inLondon,Ontarioandsince thenhas takenmanyspecialized
courses inSclerotherapyand Lasersover theyears.
She is alsoqualified to fit clients for medical compression socks and
stockings. “Theseare not ‘Grannyelastic stockings,’“ explains Kathy,
“but rather an elegant and fashionable product that looks and feels
great.”Thereareevenhikingsocksandathleticperformancecompres-
sionoptions for workingout, that look great for menandwomen. Ex-
tended Health Insurance usually covers the cost of compression
stockings, as theyare therapeutic.
Thornbury LegVeinclients first seeKathy for acomplementaryassess-
ment and consultation. Then, theyare seenbyDr. TimRemillard for a
medical evaluationbeforecommencing their treatmentswithKathy.
Sclerotherapyeffectively treats unhealthyandunsightly legveins. The
treatment involves injectingasolution into theaffectedvein. Thesolution
causes the vein to collapse and forces blood to then reroute through
healthier veins. Thecollapsedvein is resorbedby thebodyanddisap-
pears. “BeforeandAfter” photographs are taken, so that clients can
see the improvement inappearanceof the legs. Thenumberof visits is
determinedby thenumberof veins tobe treated.
Treatmentsareaffordableandareabout30minutes long.Normal ex-
erciseandactivities canbe resumed right away. “Most of my clients
want to knowwhen they canwork out after their treatments and I tell
them it’s recommended toexercise right away,” relatesKathy.
Spring isusually thebusiest time for legvein treatmentsas theweather
warms upandwe start thinkingabout shortsandbare legs. Although
treatments canbedoneat anytime.
Leg veins don’t improve on their own, and they often get worse, the
longer the issue is ignored. Thegood news is that thereare treatment
options that canhelpone feel goodabout how their legs look.

I wish I’d done this years ago... I’mmad at
myself for letting this go for so long. I can’t
believe howmuch better my legs look and
feel now. I canwear my shorts and bathing
suit on our trip... I’m just thrilled!
