For over 30 years,
Ontario’s own Chris Robinson has
worked tirelesslyasan international freestyleskier,coach, instructor,
event organizer, televisionpersonalityandproducer. Inaddition to
foundingDoubleBlackDiamondProductionsandSMedia,Chris is
responsible foroneof the longest running televisionshows inCanada
as executiveproducer of Ski Television, formerlyPontiacWorldof
SkiingandSkiBase.
In2009Chrisestablishedaneventmanagementcompanywitha
vision tobringWorldCupskiingandsnowboarding tosouthernOn-
tario.Since2010 theWorldSnowsportsEventsGrouphas success-
fullyorganizedandhosted fiveFédération InternationaledeSki (FIS)
WorldCupevents at BlueMountainResort. Throughout the years
Chrishasdevotedhis time toskiorganizations including theboardof
directors at Canadian Snowsports Association, theCanadian Ski
Council, theSkiCanadaFoundationandhasactedas theChairman
of theFISFreestyleCommitteesince1999. In2007,hewasawarded
the JudithKilbourneFoundersAward, theCanadianSnowsports in-
dustry’s topnationalaward forhisoutstandingand long-termcommit-
ment to the ski and snowboard industry inCanada. In2009Chris
was inducted into theCanadianSkiHallof Fame.
Notonly isChriscelebrated throughout the industry,he isalsoex-
tremely respectedbyhiscolleagues; “Chris isoneof thoseguysqui-
etly in thebackgroundmaking somany thingshappen inCanadian
skiing,”explains“Godfatherof Freeskiing”and sportscommentator
MikeDouglas. “Hisenergyandpassionover thepast30yearshas
reallyhelpedkeepskiing in themindsofCanadians.”

lessly topromotenot justFreestyle,butalldisciplinesofskiingonmany
levels.WhenCanadawon its first everGoldMedal onhome soil in
Vancouver in2010, itwas inFreestyleSkiingMoguls, a sportChris
grewupcompeting in,coachingand theneventuallyrepresentingon
many levels. As a friendand colleague, itwas an incrediblyproud
moment tobeable towatchChrispresent toAlexBilodeau. Itwas fit-
ting it was himgivingaway thehardware ina sport heworked so
