Tom is the artist in the family. I asked
Edna if she isalsoacreatorofart—she

WestCoast,andat theendwhen they
ask you what you thought and
learned, I said I learned to buy art.”
Edna spotted the golden hands at a
furniture store in Toronto—they were
mountedonapedestalandEdnahad
themarvelous idea tomake them into
doorhandles for themastercloset.The
result is stunning, with thegold catch-
ing the light and creating a golden
glow. “Youhave little things, andyou
just throw themsomewhere,”explains
Edna. “And you’re surprised when
they justwork! It’s really fun.”
