Julie Tyndal andMeghan Ryanwe knew theywouldmake fantastic
(and willing) makeover models for Glow Hair Studio and Gallery.
Meghan’sblondehair, asprettyas itwas, didnot suit her fieryperson-
ality. Her porcelain skin, deep blue eyes, and very feminine look re-
minded us of a ‘classic pin upgirl’—a youthful, spiritedgo-getter, we
agreed she should tryawarm, spicy red.Our clientsoften fear redhair
colour, as it canbe tricky tocompliment skin toneandeyes: getting the
perfect red can be a challenge.We decided on a deep copper red
base, withbrilliant red copper highlights, which createddepthanddi-
mension. Because she is veryactiveMeghan likes tobeable to tieher
hairbackwhileexercisingsowe left the length,andadded long layers,
whichwe shapedbeautifullyaroundher face.We tonedhereyebrows
and createdamore structured shape to compliment her complexion.
Following theclassicpinupgirl cat’seye,weapplieddarkbrowneye-
liner, and soft bronze shadows.
For futurehairmaintenance,we look forward toadding lighter highlights
andplan togradually introducecopperblondes,aswehead intoSummer.
Juliehasaquietlynatural andorganic look, butweknewwecouldup-
date her style tomatch her youthful character, without going tooover-
the-top. Shorter layerswereaddedwithina flattering, chin lengthbob,
thatwe flippedout tocomplimentheroval face.Herhairhadnever seen
colour—howexciting forus!Wechosea light,apricotblondebaseand
added fine, champagne highlights throughout. After shaping her eye-
brows,weappliedhermakeup, focusingonbronzedpeachundertones
forhercomplexionandwarmbrowns forhereyes.Renewedand invig-
orated, JulieandMeghanare thrilledwith their fresh, easy tomaintain
looks.We feel so fortunate tohavebeenable to recreate their image.
