SUMMER
2016
Anewnature reservehasbeencreated
in the
Beaver Valley thanks to Bruce Trail Conservancy (BTC)
donors. Understanding the great need, BTC donors gener-
ously and quickly responded to protect the 67 acre Lower
Valley Road Nature Reserve, in the beautiful Beaver Valley.
BTC donors appreciate the critical importance of preserving
large tracks of land like the Lower Valley Road Nature Re-
serve, and this acquisition will be a part of a 13 km corridor
of permanently secured Bruce Trail in the southern portion
of the Beaver Valley. The Nature Reserve is beautiful; its
lush wetland feeds the Boyne River and massive maturing
hardwood forest offers a spectacular display of colour in the
Fall. The Lower Valley Road Nature Reserve will now for-
ever stand as an oasis for plants, animals, birds and people
seeking sanctuary in Canada's most populated province.
This latest fundraising effort was supported by a $100,000
gift from the Dalglish Family Foundation. In addition to the
Foundation's generous gift, individual donors contributed over
$365,000 to ensure this critical Niagara Escarpment land-
scape remains in its natural state for everyone to benefit
from in perpetuity. Thank you to all that contributed to this
important land acquisition. Your gift will stand as a natural
legacy for future generations to enjoy.
