became the first Canadian since BetsyClifford in 1971 towin a
WorldCup slalom race. She followed that outstanding result with

narrowly missed a top-five slalom finish at the 2015 FISWorld
Championships inVail/BeaverCreek,Colorado,endingup insixth.

teamevent, fromwhichTeamCanadaclaimeda silvermedal.
“Mygoals for theupcoming season includebeingacontender for
thepodiumat theworld champs in slalomanddual, and to score
points inaWCGS. Todo this Ihave toslowlybuildeach racework-
ingonmy skiing, race focusand trustingmyplan, so thatmy racing
becomesconsistentas theseasonprogresses. Lookingahead to the
2018Olympics, my plan is to focus on the process and not get
caughtuponperfection. Iwant tobuildonwhat Ihave learned from
myexperienceon theWorldCupcircuit,while findingconsistency
inmy skiing. I hope to start theOlympicGames in the top7andbe
amedal contender. I have to takeeachdayas anewopportunity

Former Ontario Ski TeamMember Kevin Drury always
had a penchant for going fast. He qualified for the
Canada Ski Cross team after an incredible 2015-16
breakout season, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in
Bokwang (KOR).
“When I finishedmyNCAA ski racing career at theUni-
versity of Vermont, I decided to send an email toWilly
Raine, thedirector of Ski CrossCanada. I was known to
do flipsand tricks inany terrainpark I could find, (most of
the timedoing them inmyDH suit and full pads). The fol-
lowingseason Iwasputon theCanadianSkiCrossDevel-
opment Teamandwent on towin theNorAm title, which
allowedmeaWorldCupspot.What shockedme themost
washowhaving thebest in theworldbumpandskiaround
me, didn’t scare me, it drove me to want to ski faster,
harder. I believe I have the speed tobeoneof thebest in
theWorld. I would like to make the Olympic team for
Koreaandbeamedal contender.”
