tacular Escarpment andGeorgianBayviewsand introducesaneweraof functionality forAlpine’s
membersandguests.
Coming inon timeandonbudget at just over$11million, thenew45,000 square foot lodge
boasts indoor seatingcapacityof1600 (200+on thepatio), nearlydouble thecapacityof the
former clubhouse.
Buildingbegan inMay2015and required tight timelinesand scheduling toensure the structure
was closed-inbefore the snowbegan to fly.During this time theprevious clubhouse remained
operationalwhileconstructionon thenew lodgecontinued indoors.
TheoriginalAlpineclubhousemet itsdemise thispast fall,when itwasdemolishedand in its
footprint isnowanexpansivemeetingarea. Flatteningout thebaseareawasanecessary
challengeas itmeant that the terraceof thenewbuildingwouldonlybea few stepsup from the
compacted snowbaseandvirtually levelwith thebaseof theSummitChair.No skating required!
What it did require isa significant amount of fill; almost 15,000cubicyardsor750dumptruck
loads in total.

thenorthand reduces thepedestrian/skier/snowboarder congestionof thepast.”
